10 on 10 Blog Circle – April 2018| Massachusetts Photographer

It’s 10 on 10 time!

We had so much snow last month and I have about a gazillion images of it. Overflowing with snow; overflowing with images! Here’s just a tiny taste of the fun we had.

“We’re going on a bear hunt…”

I think she enjoys it more than the rest of us combined:

Some fun just for me:

The second month of our {Inspired by Life} blog is here and with it come the highlights of my photographic February. It was a quiet month and quick month, and the photographic highs felt few and far between, but here they are nonetheless. Make sure to scroll all the way down for the link to follow the circle onwards.

10 on 10 Blog Circle – February 2018 | Massachusetts Photographer

Massachusetts Photographer | 10 on 10 NYC | © Ceri Herd Photography

For this month’s 10 on 10 I want to share a collection of images from our recent trip to New York City with you. I’ve shared many images from the trip on my blog and in on social media sites, but most of these will be new to you, I hope.

My youngest son turned 6 in January. He loves all things numbers, and over the last year or so that has translated into a love of big buildings: how tall they are, how many floors they have, when they were built… it’s an all-round fascination with numerical facts. He has a real love of learning and thirst for knowledge, these facts light him up! Back in October at his first parent-teacher conference his Kindergarten teacher asked if it was true that we would be taking him to the Empire State Building for his birthday. I had mentioned it to him once, a vague possibility when the thought popped into my head, but he’d clearly taken to heart and after telling all his friends there we simply had to go! (He has since told his class that we’re moving to Dubai… because of the Burj Khalifa, obviously… which FYI is NOT happening).

So off we went to (a desperately cold) NYC!

The Birthday Boy posing atop the Empire State Building, a dream come true! (This is his new posing for a photo face, a rare and beautiful thing)

Restricting my share to 10 was SO hard this month but I think heart strings and artistic stings have found an adequate balance this time!

Thankful

I am thankful.

I am thankful each and every day.

I am thankful for my people. For my husband. For the opportunities that his success has provided for us all. For my Scottsdale Village, who I miss dearly and daily. For our new home and our new school. For a photography community who support me, guide me and inspire me.

Today, I am thankful to be home. UK, home.

For those of you who know me and/or follow my blog, you know that we have been living in the US for three years. We have been incredibly grateful to spend our first three Thanksgivings with three welcoming and generous families. But today, we are home. We are in the UK with our family and for that I could not be more grateful.

These people are my life. They are my everything. I would follow them to the end of the world and back again, and so I do. And there we will stay until the time is right to return home again.

Artists Inspired Blog Circle | June 2017 – Turquoise

We are on the final countdown. These are our last few weeks living in the desert. Our last few weeks putting up with stupid hot temperatures (and boy are they stupid, forecast to reach 118F next week). Our last few weeks with a swimming pool. Our last few weeks needing a swimming pool!

So what perfect timing to share some of our {turquoise} desert oasis:

We have made many happy memories swimming and enjoying time as a family in this pool. These boys have transformed from fearing the water to confident, capable, water-loving little fish. It is my sincere wish that this will stay with them for many many years and we’ll do our best to make sure it does. But next on the new skills agenda…skiing!
